| ZESTRIL
IS INDICATED AS ADJUNCTIVE THERAPY FOR HEART FAILURE PATIENTS NOT
RESPONDING ADEQUATELY TO DIURETICS AND DIGITALIS |
- Significantly improved ejection fraction7,8
- Improved exercise tolerance7,9
- Adverse events occurring in greater than 2.5% of patients with heart failure treated with ZESTRIL and at a greater incidence than with placebo were dizziness (11.8% vs 4.5%), hypotension (4.4% vs 0.6%), headache (4.4% vs 3.9%), diarrhea (3.7% vs 1.9%), and chest pain (3.4% vs 1.3%)
- Pharmacokinetic studies indicate that maximum blood levels and area under the
plasma concentration time curve are doubled in older patients,
so that dosage adjustments should be made with particular caution
